I love the rustic and vintage look. I wanted to keep things at my wedding simple yet very romantic. In selecting the colours, I knew I wanted everything to be soft with lots of greenery. I wanted everything to be subtle yet classy- not only in attire but with everything. I stuck to a soft blush pink rather than pinks that popped too much.I decided to go with a charcoal grey rather than black because I felt it blended a lot better and it wasn’t too bold against the blush pink and the gold accents. I wanted the sense and the feeling of being outdoors which is why I incorporated the birch throughout the wedding decor and table settings and again added the greens throughout. I truly feel like less is more, so I kept that in mind with everything.
2. Why did you choose your wedding venue?
Originally we were looking at using a barn of some sort to keep to the rustic feel. I chose the Pillar & Post because I feel I got the best of both worlds. I was able to have my ceremony outside by a rose garden and underneath a beautiful blooming tree. Incorporating the outdoors was important to me. The hotel itself is gorgeous from top to bottom, both inside and out. I did not want to have my reception in your typical banquet hall. The Pillar & Post’s reception hall (Upper Canada Hall) is one of a kind. From the brick work to the amazing wood and pillars- it was a sight to see. The hall was so perfect that I really didn’t need to do much to it, in terms of decorating. Adding my simply greens with a few other flowers that I had used in my wedding, along with my center pieces, and some candles …. voila!!! The hotel itself screams everything that I love, you’ll have to go and see to fully understand what I mean. It is simply breath taking. As well, the hotel had everything I wanted and needed in one place. I had an in house florist, an in house wedding coordinator, the bakery was 2 minutes away, all the food was catered by the hotel. It was a one stop shop which made it very easy and stress free for planning and organizing! I highly recommend this venue!!!
Favourite wedding moment hmmm – WOW that’s a tough one, there was so many to be honest.Seeing Thomas for the first time on our wedding day was special. He was very emotional and it was a surreal moment starring into his eyes as I walked down the aisle with my dad.Saying our vows was up there along with our first kiss, when you are in that moment you get lost in each other and nothing else matters. It’s a feeling and a moment I will never forget, always cherish and hold close to my heart forever. Finally, something I find very important, is having everyone that you love in one room, celebrating you and your love. Family is everything! To be able to share our special day with everyone, to see everyone laugh, and dance the night away makes it all worth it.
